Dexter: Former Dexter Star Jonny Lee Miller Leads New Show

Former Dexter star Jonny Lee Miller is headlining a new and upcoming show for CBS which will be a reboot and a modern take on Sherlock Holmes. The series will be entitled “Elementary” with Jonny Lee playing the role of the iconic detective who was popularized in the novels written by Arthur Conan Doyle.

The new Sherlock series will be set in present day, in New York City with the script written by Robert Dohery and the pilot episode directed by Michael Cuesta. The show is expected to be part of CBS’ Fall 2012 season line-up.

Jonny Lee Miller starred in the drama series Eli Stone before doing a story arc on Dexter at Showtime. The British actor also successfully finished a stage production called “Frankenstein in London” for which earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Evening Standard Theatre Award.

It’s still uncertain, however, how this new show will fare, considering that BBC is also bent on suing CBS for claims that they have copied off the Sherlock series that BBC is already doing.

But it would exciting to watch Jonny Lee on TV again and hopefully this series will take off.
