Last November Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter on the popular series, signed a contract with the network for season 7 and 8, both being 12 episode seasons. Now this doesn’t mean for sure that Dexter is coming to an end, but according to Showtime Entertainment president David Nevins, it’s a good possibility. In a recent interview he said season 8 will likely be the end, however he is permitting the chance that the end can change. So there’s hope right?!?

Nevins continued by saying they have established a pretty clear bath as to where the show is going and he feels it will help to write with that endgame in mind. And there goes my hope, my fingers are still crossed though. Nevins also indicated that Dexter and Deb’s (Jennifer Carpenter) relationship is going to significantly impact the series. He added that’s been pushing for the writers to shake it up a little and with Deb exploring her feeling for Dexter it will do just that.

According to sources from Radar Online, the ex-couple were seen at a cozy hotel bar, drinking wine in a dimly lit corner and it looked really romantic, like they were on a first date.

Then, this report was followed up with another news that showed the two having coffee together, just like old times. This seemed like a second date:

At one point, according to the report, the guy gave the girl a kiss and it wasn’t the kind that says they were just friends. It looked like they were in love.

The two stars, who plays brother and sister on the show Dexter, were married in 2008. This only lasted for two years, amid reports that Michael C. Hall cheated on his wife with Julia Stiles who was part of Dexter’s sixth season. This was never confirmed, however, Jennifer filed for divorce following their separation and last December, the court granted this.

Now that it looks like they are back together, some people are saying Michael C. Hall never felt out of love for his wife and that he was devastated when they separated.

And then now, news have it that the Ice Truck Killer from the first season, otherwise also known as Christian Camago, is going to be on The Good Wife as well. Camago will play the role of a movie director who has done a documentary that was believed to be the inspiration for a young girl to contemplate on suicide.

On Dexter, Camago actually played the boyfriend of Jennifer Carpenter. It’s amusing to see that she and her former small screen boyfriend are sharing something in common with this Good Wife guest appearance.

The episode featuring Camago is said to be airing sometime in March and I am looking forward to this, as I’ve not seen Camago in the small screen for a while now.

In an interview with Parade Magazine, the actress said that she thinks being on that show’s set would be a lot of fun and it’s probably going to be a blast just to hang-out.

The actress, who is starring in what can be considered a long-running series, did not expect Dexter to run this long. She did not even expect to stick with a TV show, as she was more interested in pursuing films before.

She says that she loves the whole “open-endedness” of her show and that she gets to work with lots of wonderful actors year after year. She has learned a lot from acting doing her series, but she thinks she should branch out to the comedy genre or do straight dramas next time and if given the opportunity.

The actress has recently come to the defense of how Dexter Season 6 has ended, putting her character, Debra, in the forefront of the story, as being actually in love with Dexter.

There has been a lot of talk about Deb’s (Jennifer Carpenter) revelation that she has feelings for her adopted brother Dexter (Michael C. Hall). Buck defended their decision to go with that storyline admitting it has been something that has been in the works since as early as Season 2 of the series. As well he said they conducted a lot of research among adoptive siblings and found that although it makes for an awkward situation it is something that happens and does exist in the real world as well.

Speaking of the real world, the lead character Carpenter and Hall have just recently announced their divorce has been finalized. Ironic considering their could possibly be an on-screen romance or could there be? Buck revealed that although Carpenter’s character has these feelings, he doesn’t feel Dexter has ever or will ever reciprocate the same feelings. He added that Dexter isn’t really capable of loving and Lumen has been the closest he has come to doing so.

Unfortunately for Dexter fans talk of the series coming to close has started. The series has been approved for two more seasons, but probably won’t continue after the 8th season. Buck recently said there are a few people involved now, all with different opinions has to how the series should conclude. He added it’s just a matter of having everyone sit down a figure out how it will end. “We’re all clearly heading in one direction, but that grand finale has not been decided yet,” Buck said of the finale.

What are your thoughts on the season 6 finale? Were you happy with the incestual twist or did you find it to be unrealistic or too over-the-top? Any predictions for what is to come in the final two seasons of the series? Do you think Dexter should be killed in the series finale?

The actress said in a magazine interview that it’s important for actors to separate their personal life and professional life. And she’d like to believe that Michael C. Hall and her have done a good job protecting their relationship before and even when they got their divorce.

She says further, “I would like to reassure all Dexter fans that the show is and always has been paramount.”

She insists that the actor and him remain good friends despite everything, thus they can continue to work comfortably with each other.

The actress also says that working on the show has been a commitment. “I need to make sure that I’m taking roles that I feel like I can communicate through.”

The last two seasons of Dexter that’s coming up is seen as the show’s end game, and we now have an idea where this will start with — Debra finding out her brother is a killer, and realizing she is in love with him.

The final epsidoe showed that Debra already knows her brother is a killer. But more than that, Debra is also secretly in love with Dexter. This new revelation came out of nowhere, said one critic, and many have concluded that the ending was perhaps part of someone’s imagination or dream sequence.

Dexter producers say, however, that this is definitely not a dream. The idea of Debra falling for Dexter has been discussed as early as Season 2 but was downplayed and ignored until they decided to finally go with it. It was finally time to take the issue.

This perhaps explains why it has taken her all these years to figure out her brother is behind those killings. Blinded by love, smart detective Debra chose to ignore all those clues, until she saw it with her own eyes.

The producers say that now that this new development is out in the bag, there are plenty of ways the writer can go in order to end this show.

Given a possible end date by Showtime a few months back, the producers promised the ending will satisfy the viewers best.

This week’s Dexter episode, the season finale, in fact, was really all about her.

The Travis storyline was kind of predictable. And despite some chilling scenes from Dexter, it was Debra’s storyline that carried this whole thing to the end.

Debra was having the worst day of her life and the fact that she has admitted to her therapist that she may love her foster brother in a different way, puts this whole thing in a different light.

I don’t exactly like the fact that Debra all of a sudden realizes she loves Dexter more than a brother, as to me, they have always been siblings. But I guess it makes sense for the writers to arrive at this storyline. And the confusion in her mind makes this new angle more complex.

In addition, there is also this pressure from work, leading to Deb’s meltdown and I was quite apprehensive that she would jump off the building in once scene.

But alas, the writers don’t want to end it the easy way. Debra is about to witness his brother, the man she loves, kill the man her police force is after.

And then she finally knows. Or at least what I hope is the idea that finally, Debra sees everything we’ve been hoping she gets.

Now where does that lead Dexter and Debra’s relationship next season?

Michael C. Hall, the star of the series, teased that Dexter has done so much in the last six seasons, that a musical episode may be next in order. He, however, quickly took those statements back, the moment he said it and clarified that it was never going to happen for the show. He kids that he shouldn’t have said those statements early on and laughed when pressed for further details in a morning show interview.

Although, we can’t see why not. Hall is a gifted thespian who has already starred in Broadway and did Cabaret and Chicago before doing Dexter. They can really go outside the box, beyond the constraints of the show and do this very special episode. I think even Jennifer Carpenter can ace one song or two.

The series is about to wrap up its season on December 18th but, according to reports, viewers and critics alike have been quite unsatisfied with the way the story has been going. There’s a certain unevenness to it now that others think maybe it’s really high time for the show to end. But with a renewal for two more seasons from Showtime.

The show greatly disappointed fans in its Nov. 27 episode where it was revealed that Professor Gellar, played by Edward James Olmos, is actually a dead figure and is only the hallucination of Travis, played by Colin Hanks. Travis is also the guy responsibile for Gellar’s murder.

To some viewers, this “twist” has been done early in the season, thus, Dexter, it seems is rehashing old plots.

Many also say that the show has peaked during the fourth season, with Rita’s murder (Rita is Dexter’s wife). And that after this, the show hasn’t been able to top any of its plots anymore.
